একটি কর্মক্ষমতা সূচক বা কী কর্মক্ষমতা নির্দেশক কর্মক্ষমতা পরিমাপ একটি প্রকার। একটি প্রতিষ্ঠান তার সাফল্যের মূল্যায়ন করতে KPIs ব্যবহার করতে পারে, অথবা এটি জড়িত হয় যা একটি নির্দিষ্ট কার্যকলাপ সাফল্যের মূল্যায়ন। কখনও কখনও সাফল্য কৌশলগত লক্ষ্যের দিকে অগ্রগতির পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে সংজ্ঞায়িত করা হয়, কিন্তু প্রায়ই সাফল্যটি কেবলমাত্র কিছু পর্যায়ে কার্যকরী লক্ষ্যের পুনরাবৃত্তি, পর্যায়ক্রমিক কৃতিত্ব। তদনুসারে, সঠিক কেপিআইগুলি নির্বাচন করা সংগঠনের জন্য গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কি কি তা বোঝার উপর নির্ভর করে। 'গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কি' প্রায়ই কর্মক্ষমতা পরিমাপ বিভাগ উপর নির্ভর করে - যেমন কেপিআইগুলি অর্থের জন্য উপযোগী, বিক্রি করার জন্য নির্ধারিত KPIs থেকে ভিন্ন হবে। যেহেতু গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয়গুলি বোঝার প্রয়োজন রয়েছে তাই, বর্তমান ব্যবসার অবস্থা এবং তার মূল কার্যগুলির মূল্যায়ন করার বিভিন্ন কৌশলগুলি কার্য সম্পাদনের সূচকগুলির সাথে যুক্ত করা হয়। এই মূল্যায়নগুলি সম্ভবত সম্ভাব্য উন্নতির সনাক্তকরণের দিকে পরিচালিত করে, তাই কার্যনির্বাহক সূচক নিয়মিতভাবে 'কর্মক্ষমতা উন্নতির' উদ্যোগের সাথে যুক্ত হয়। KPIs চয়ন করার একটি খুব সাধারণ উপায় হল একটি ব্যবস্থাপনা কাঠামো যেমন সুষম স্কোরকার্ড প্রয়োগ করা।
