Die vieräugigen Fische sind eine Gattung, Anableps, von Fischen in der Familie Anablepidae. Sie haben die Augen über die Oberseite des Kopfes gehoben und in zwei verschiedene Teile geteilt, so dass sie unter und über der Wasseroberfläche zur gleichen Zeit sehen können. Wie ihre Verwandten, die einseitigen Livebearren, Vieräugige Fische paaren sich nur auf der einen Seite, rechts - "Handed" Männer mit Links- "Handed" -Frauen und umgekehrt. Diese Fische bewohnen Süßwasser und Brackwasser und sind nur selten Küstenmeer. Sie stammen vom Tiefland im Süden Mexikos bis nach Honduras und Nord-Südamerika.
