Bertolt Brecht (geborener Eugen Berthold Friedrich Brecht (Hilfe · Info), 10. Februar 1898 - 14. August 1956) war ein deutscher Dichter, Dramatiker, Theaterdirektor und Marxist. Ein Theaterpraktiker des 20. Jahrhunderts machte Brecht Beiträge zur Dramaturgie und Theaterproduktion, letztere durch die Touren des Berliner Ensembles - die Nachkriegs-Theater-Firma, die von Brecht und seiner Frau, langjähriger Mitarbeiterin und Schauspielerin Helene Weigel betrieben wurde.
