Diese gerade Ausrichtung beruht auf dem Gegengewicht der Zugkraft, die durch die entgegengesetzten Kinetochore-Mikrotubuli erzeugt wird, analog zu einem Tauziehen zwischen zwei gleichberechtigten Personen, die mit der Zerstörung von B-Cyclin enden.
