Wesentliche Aspekte der Rechenfähigkeit sind auch Zahlensinn, Bedienungssinn, Berechnung, Messung, Geometrie, Wahrscheinlichkeit und Statistik. Eine numerisch gelehrte Person kann die mathematischen Forderungen des Lebens bewältigen und darauf reagieren. Im Gegensatz dazu kann der Mangel an Rechenfähigkeit oder Unklarheit einen negativen Einfluss haben, wenn die Fähigkeiten fehlen. Die Numerität hat Einfluss auf Karriereberufe, Alphabetisierung und Risikowahrnehmung auf gesundheitliche Entscheidungen. Niedrige Rechenbarkeit verfälscht die Risikowahrnehmung zu gesundheitlichen Entscheidungen und kann die wirtschaftlichen Entscheidungen negativ beeinflussen.
