Synchro
Ein Synchro ist in der Tat ein Transformator, dessen primär-sekundäre Kopplung durch physikalische Veränderung der relativen Orientierung der beiden Wicklungen variiert werden kann. Synchros werden oft zum Messen des Winkels einer rotierenden Maschine wie einer Antennenplattform verwendet. In seiner allgemeinen physikalischen Konstruktion ist es ähnlich wie ein Elektromotor. Die an den Rotor befestigte Primärwicklung des Transformators wird durch einen Wechselstrom angeregt, der durch elektromagnetische Induktion Ströme in drei Y-verbundenen Sekundärwicklungen fließt, die bei 120 Grad zueinander am Stator fixiert sind. Die relativen Größen von Sekundärströmen werden gemessen und verwendet, um den Winkel des Rotors relativ zum Stator zu bestimmen, oder die Ströme können verwendet werden, um direkt eine Empfängersynchronisation zu fahren, die sich gemeinsam mit dem Synchrosender dreht.
