Watan
Weekly Watan ist eine malaysische Zeitung in Malaysia, die 1987 nach der Operation Lalang verboten wurde. Die Zeitung wurde am 16. August 2008 landesweit verteilt, nachdem sie am 1. August 2008 eine Veröffentlichungserlaubnis vom Innenministerium erhalten hatte. Die Zeitung wurde in Form einer Boulevardzeitung veröffentlicht. .. Vor 1987 wurde die Zeitung von der Karangkraf-Gruppe Sdn Bhd jeden Mittwoch und Samstag als Watan veröffentlicht. 1988, ein Jahr nach dem Verbot, wurden Verlagslizenzen an die Produzenten dieser Presse wieder ausgegeben. Aufgrund fehlender Verkäufe muss die Veröffentlichung 1996 eingestellt werden. Weekly Watan wird von Naluri Teratai Sdn Bhd herausgegeben, die Wan Bahador Wan Ismail und Rosli Abul Zarim gehört. Wan Bahador war einer der Journalisten, die mit Watans früherer Zeitung arbeiteten. Chefredakteur der Presse ist Zabidi Said.
