Zostało przyrzeczone, że Baldur powróci do żywych, jeśli wszystko, co istnieje na świecie, zapłacze z powodu jego odejścia. Nie został wskrzeszony, gdyż olbrzymka Thökk, której postać przybrał Loki, nie przyłączyła się do żałoby. Po Ragnaröku zmartwychwstanie wraz z Hödem i zapanuje nad światem.
