Bacchus is originally the Latin form of Bakchos, a surname of Dionysus, the god of wine and the intoxication in Greek mythology. Bacchus became popular with the Romans as the name of Liber pater, the original Italian god of wine and fertility. Bacchus ist ursprünglich die lateinische Form von Bakchos, einem Beinamen des Dionysos, des Gottes des Weines und des Rausches in der griechischen Mythologie.
