Chromatid

The term chromatid refers to a part of the chromosomes of the eukaryotes. A chromatid consists of a DNA double strand and the associated chromatin proteins. Depending on the cell cycle phase of a cell, a chromosome consists of one or two chromatids. Der Begriff Chromatid bezeichnet einen Teil der Chromosomen der Eukaryoten. Ein Chromatid besteht aus einem DNA-Doppelstrang und den zugehörigen Chromatin-Proteinen. Je nachdem in welcher Zellzyklus-Phase sich eine Zelle befindet, besteht ein Chromosom aus einem oder zwei Chromatiden.
