Deuteronomist

Deuteronomisten

Under Deuteronomists, a whole school of Judaean theologians is summarized, who particularly emphasized monotheism. On the one hand, the author of Deuteronomy, Deuteronomy 5, who lived in the early Babylonian exile, was perhaps already involved in the reform of the temple under Josiah. According to JHWH of Hebron, as well as the results of archeology, that YHWH had temples in places other than Jerusalem in the time of the king, the Deuteronomist theology described Jerusalem exclusively as a temple. Even sub-gods, who still had their place beside and under YHWH in the Elephantine of the Persian period, were completely forbidden. This marks the transition from henotheism to monotheism. Other gods and cultic places, such as those at Bethel or Shechem, were already under Josiah in the seventh century BC, Was forbidden and looped. On the other hand, the Deuteronomistic Redactor, who dealt with the Pentateuch and the books of Joshua, Judge, Samuel, and Kings, in the sense of this theology. The prophets' books, especially Jeremiah, also received a deuteronomistic revision.
