Hindi is an Indo-language spoken in most of the North and Central Indian states. It is an Indo-European language, and it is derived from the Prakrit languages. Hindi became the official language of India on January 26, 1965. Hindi and Urdu are so closely related that together they could theoretically form a language called Hindustani, which would be understood almost throughout the Indian subcontinent. Among the most popular languages ​​in the world, Hindi is ranked second in Chinese, Spanish, and English. Over 600 million people in India and the surrounding area use it as a mother or everyday language. Urdu hingegen, als offizielle Sprache Pakistans, wird mit arabischen Schriftzeichen geschrieben und hat viele Wörter der persischen, türkischen und arabischen Sprache aufgenommen.
