As nylon stockings are called stockings or pantyhose made of polyamide or similar microfibers. They are relatively short-lived, since they tend to damage, in particular running meshes. Nylon stockings are often visible, for example under skirts, and exert a strong erotic charisma, which can go up to fetishism. The denier of the stitches is indicated by the unit denier. The den-number indicates how heavy a thread is of 9000 m length. Thus a 15 denier stocking is produced from a yarn whose weight is 15 grams at a length of 9000 meters. Nylonstrümpfe werden häufig sichtbar, beispielsweise unter Röcken, getragen und üben auf manche Menschen eine starke erotische Ausstrahlung aus, die bis zum Fetischismus gehen kann. Die Dichte der Maschen wird durch die Maßeinheit Denier angegeben. Die den-Zahl gibt an, wie schwer ein Faden von 9000 m Länge ist. So wird ein 15-den-Strumpf aus einem Garn produziert, dessen Gewicht bei einer Länge von 9000 Meter 15 Gramm beträgt. Die Bandbreite reicht von 5 den bis zu 100 den. Die Strumpfeigenschaften werden stark durch die Fadenstärke und Maschendichte beeinflusst. Im Allgemeinen gelten Strümpfe als umso haltbarer, wärmender und kräftiger im Farbton, je dicker die Fadenstärke und je weiter die Maschendichte ist. Umgekehrt gilt: Je dünner der Faden und je enger die Maschen sind, desto transparenter sind die Strümpfe.
