Tollwut

Rabies is a viral infection known for thousands of years, which causes an acute, almost always fatal encephalitis in animals and humans. Synonyms are rage disease, Lyssa, Rabies and Rage. Previously, the terms hydrophobia and aquaphobia were used synonymously. Until the 19th century it was customary to be a dog rage. The disease is usually caused by rabies virus in humans. Most species of warm-blooded animals can be infected by this virus, but it is rare among herbivores. The stereotypical image of a rabid animal is the aggressive dog with foam in front of the mouth. But also cats, ferrets, foxes, badgers, raccoons, skunks, wolves and the bats can be rabid, or the classic rabies or another form transferred. With regard to the bats, vampire bats, in insect-eating bats, are mostly bats, and in the case of fruit-eating bats, usually airports.
