Vibrionen

Vibrions is a colloquial term for species of the genus Vibrio. These are gramnegative bacteria, facultative anaerobic, curved rods. The flagella are usually polar. No persistence or spore is produced. Most species live in fresh or salt water. Two species are humanpathogenic, the known cholera stimulant Vibrio cholerae and Vibrio parahaemolyticus. Vibrionen ist eine umgangssprachliche Bezeichnung für Arten der Gattung Vibrio. Es handelt sich um gramnegative Bakterien, fakultativ anaerobe, gekrümmte Stäbchen. Die Geißeln sind meist polar angeordnet. Überdauerungsorgane wie Sporen werden nicht erzeugt. Die meisten Arten leben im Süß- oder Meerwasser. Zwei Arten sind humanpathogen, der bekannte Choleraerreger Vibrio cholerae und Vibrio parahaemolyticus.
