WHAT DOES CRAMP MEAN IN ENGLISH?

cramp

Cramp

A cramp is a sudden, severe, and involuntary muscle contraction or over-shortening; while generally temporary and non-damaging, they can cause mild-to-excruciating pain, and a paralysis-like immobility of the affected muscle. Onset is usually sudden, and it resolves on its own over a period of several seconds, minutes, or hours. There are two major categories of cramps: causes of skeletal muscle cramps include muscle fatigue, and/or a lack of electrolytes; cramps of smooth muscle tissue may be due to menstruation or gastroenteritis.

Definition of cramp in the English dictionary

The first definition of cramp in the dictionary is a painful involuntary contraction of a muscle, typically caused by overexertion, heat, or chill. Other definition of cramp is temporary partial paralysis of a muscle group. Cramp is also severe abdominal pain.
