WHAT DOES MENDEL'S LAWS MEAN IN ENGLISH?

Mendelian inheritance

Mendelian inheritance was initially derived from the work of Gregor Johann Mendel published in 1865 and 1866 which was re-discovered in 1900. It was initially very controversial. When Mendel's theories were integrated with the chromosome theory of inheritance by Thomas Hunt Morgan in 1915, they became the core of classical genetics.

Definition of Mendel's laws in the English dictionary

The definition of Mendel's laws in the dictionary is the principles of heredity proposed by Gregor Mendel. The Law of Segregation states that each hereditary character is determined by a pair of units in the reproductive cells: the pairs separate during meiosis so that each gamete carries only one unit of each pair. The Law of Independent Assortment states that the separation of the units of each pair is not influenced by that of any other pair.
