WHAT DOES PARANOIA MEAN IN ENGLISH?

Paranoia

Paranoia /ˌpærəˈnɔɪə/ is a thought process believed to be heavily influenced by anxiety or fear, often to the point of irrationality and delusion. Paranoid thinking typically includes persecutory beliefs, or beliefs of conspiracy concerning a perceived threat towards oneself. Paranoia is distinct from phobias, which also involve irrational fear, but usually no blame. Making false accusations and the general distrust of others also frequently accompany paranoia. For example, an incident most people would view as an accident or coincidence, a paranoid person might believe was intentional.

Definition of paranoia in the English dictionary

The first definition of paranoia in the dictionary is a form of schizophrenia characterized by a slowly progressive deterioration of the personality, involving delusions and often hallucinations. Other definition of paranoia is a mental disorder characterized by any of several types of delusions, in which the personality otherwise remains relatively intact. Paranoia is also intense fear or suspicion, esp when unfounded.
