Partnerships are increasingly seen through the prism of promises and expectations, and as a kind of product for consumers: satisfaction on the spot, and if not fully satisfied, return the product to the shop or replace it with a new and improved one! You don't, after all, stick to your car, or computer, or iPod, when better ones appear.

WHAT DOES PRISM MEAN IN ENGLISH?

prism

Prism

In optics, a prism is a transparent optical element with flat, polished surfaces that refract light. At least two of the flat surfaces must have an angle between them. The exact angles between the surfaces depend on the application. The traditional geometrical shape is that of a triangular prism with a triangular base and rectangular sides, and in colloquial use "prism" usually refers to this type. Some types of optical prism are not in fact in the shape of geometric prisms. Prisms can be made from any material that is transparent to the wavelengths for which they are designed. Typical materials include glass, plastic and fluorite. A dispersive prism can be used to break light up into its constituent spectral colors. Furthermore, prisms can be used to reflect light, or to split light into components with different polarizations.

Definition of prism in the English dictionary

The first definition of prism in the dictionary is a transparent polygonal solid, often having triangular ends and rectangular sides, for dispersing light into a spectrum or for reflecting and deviating light. They are used in spectroscopes, binoculars, periscopes, etc. Other definition of prism is a form of crystal with faces parallel to the vertical axis. Prism is also a polyhedron having parallel, polygonal, and congruent bases and sides that are parallelograms.
