WHAT DOES SINANTHROPUS MEAN IN ENGLISH?

Sinanthropus

Sinanthropus is an obsolete genus of hominids in the scientific classification system. It originated when an early fossil molar of Peking man was assigned the classification Sinanthropus pekinensis by Davidson Black late in 1927. Following the discovery of specimens of Lantian Man starting in 1963, that was added to the genus as Sinanthropus lantianensis. Both species have since been reclassified as varieties within the species Homo erectus, and the genus Sinanthropus is disused.
