WHAT DOES TAX REVENUE MEAN IN ENGLISH?

Tax revenue

Tax revenue is the income that is gained by governments through taxation. Just as there are different types of tax, the form in which tax revenue is collected also differs; furthermore, the agency that collects the tax may not be part of central government, but may be an alternative third-party licenced to collect tax which they themselves will use. For example: ▪ In the UK, the DVLA collects vehicle excise duty, which is then passed onto the treasury. Tax revenues on purchases can come from two forms: 'tax' itself is a percentage of the price added to the purchase, while 'duty' is a fixed amount added to the purchase price. In order to calculate the total tax raised from these sales, we must work out the effective tax rate multiplied by the quantity supplied.

Definition of tax revenue in the English dictionary

The definition of tax revenue in the dictionary is the total amount of money that the government receives from taxation.

6 QUOTES WITH «TAX REVENUE»

Famous quotes and sentences with the word tax revenue.
1
Ha-Joon Chang
Economics should be defined in terms of what it is about. It should be about how people produce things, how people exchange them, how people earn income, how they pay taxes, how the government provides infrastructure with tax revenue, and how it conducts monetary policy. The subject has to be defined in terms of the object of inquiry.
2
Alan Keyes
We must take away the government's credit card. With limits on both tax revenue and borrowing, the Federal government would finally be forced to get serious about spending cuts.
3
Douglas R. Oberhelman
Any politician that says no tax revenue or zero spending cuts does not deserve reelection. Our hole is so deep in this country with the debt and the debt service, the interest on that debt, before the big expenses come for Social Security and Medicare - for we baby boomers in a few years - that everything has to be on the table.
4
Solomon Ortiz
For my constituents, owning a home is the culmination of many years of hard work and the realization of the American Dream. At no time should a local entity take those years of hard work solely to increase their tax revenue.
5
Jim Ryun
One would expect that private property taken by eminent domain would become land available for public use such as parks and roads. Unfortunately, this decision creates a loophole for government to manipulate the definition of public use simply to generate greater tax revenue.
6
Bill Shuster
Government spending is being restrained, the economy is making progress and moving forward, and the pro-growth, tax cutting policies put in place have allowed businesses to grow, which has brought in additional tax revenue to help pay off the debt.
