WHAT DOES THALLOPHYTE MEAN IN ENGLISH?

Thallophyte

The thallophytes are a polyphyletic group of non-mobile organisms traditionally described as "thalloid plants", "relatively simple plants" or "lower plants". They were a defunct division of Kingdom Plantae that included fungus, lichens and algae and occasionally bryophytes, bacteria and the Myxomycota. They have a hidden reproductive system and hence they are also called Cryptogamae, as opposed to Phanerogamae. The thallophytes are defined as having undifferentiated bodies, as opposed to cormophytes with roots and stems.

Definition of thallophyte in the English dictionary

The definition of thallophyte in the dictionary is any organism of the former division Thallophyta, lacking true stems, leaves, and roots: includes the algae, fungi, lichens, and bacteria, all now regarded as separate phyla.
