Selenography is the science that studies the surface and physical characteristics of the Moon, especially the correspondences of these characteristics according to the latitude and longitude of the Moon. The lunar seas, the craters of the moon as well as its mountains and unevenness are the main objects of study of the selenography. The mapping of these accidents was done thanks to the high resolution images of both the visible side and the hidden side of the Moon, made by the space probes. However, there are still very poor images of some regions of the lunar surface, especially those located at the poles. For this reason, there is an uncertainty in the exact location of seas and craters of the order of kilometers. Today, selenography is considered a subdiscipline of selenology, which is more often referred to as "lunar science". The word comes from the Greek Selene and spelling. La selenografía es la ciencia que estudia la superficie y las caraterísticas físicas de la Luna, especialmente las correspondencias de estas características de acuerdo con la latitud y longitud de la Luna. Los mares lunares, los cráteres de la luna así como sus montañas y desniveles son las principales objetos de estudio de la selenografía. El mapeo de dichos accidentes se ha realizado gracias a las imágenes de alta resolución tanto del lado visible como el lado oculto de la Luna, realizadas por las sondas espaciales. Sin embargo, aún se tienen imágenes muy pobres de algunas regiones de la superficie lunar, principalmente aquellas localizadas en los polos. Por esto mismo, existe una incertidumbre en la localización exacta de los mares y cráteres del orden de kilómetros. Actualmente, la selenografía se considera una subdisciplina de la selenología, a la cual se le conoce más a menudo como «ciencia lunar». La palabra proviene del griego Selene y grafía.
