Bucarde

Bucarde is a name commonly referred to as the molluscs of the Cardiidae family to which the shells belong. It is an appellation of scholarly origin that appeared in the francophone scientific vocabulary of the eighteenth century. Today, its use seems to be much more limited than in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Bucarde est un nom dont on désigne communément les mollusques de la famille des Cardiidae à laquelle appartiennent les coques. Il s'agit d'une appellation d'origine savante apparue dans le vocabulaire scientifique francophone au XVIIIe siècle. De nos jours, son utilisation semble nettement plus limitée qu'aux XIXe siècle et au début du XXe siècle.
