Silicosis

Silicose

Silicosis is a pulmonary disease caused by the inhalation of silica dust particles in mines, quarries, tunnel boreholes or construction sites, "jeans" factories, or even flour mills. Other occupations are also exposed to this irreversible occupational disease, such as porcelain and dental prosthetists. This is the oldest known occupational pneumonitis. The sector of demolition and rehabilitation of buildings or infrastructure is also concerned. Some geographical areas are conducive to the removal of siliceous dust. Vegetative engineering, no-till cultivation and soil stabilization can often limit these risks.
