फुट तक ऊँचा होता है । गुल अब्बास ।
विशेष—इसकी पत्तियाँ कुत्ते के कान की तरह नोकीली और लंबी
होती हैं । कुछ लोग भूल से इसकी मोटी जड़ को चोबचीनी
कहते हैं । इसके फूल प्राय: लाल होते हैं, पर पीले और सफेद
भी मिलते हैं । फूलों के झड़ जाने पर स्थान पर काले
काले मिर्च के ऐसे बीज पड़ते हैं ।
