निकलती हैं, से बारबसिंगा नाम पड़ा । और चौपायों के सींगों के समान, इसके सींगों पर कड़ा आवरण नहीं
होता, कोमल चमड़ा होता है जिसपर नरम महीन रोएँ होते
हैं । इसके सींग का आवरण प्रति बर्ष फागुन चैत में उतरता है । आवरण उतरने पर सीग में से एक नई शाखा का अंकुर
दिखाई पड़ता है । इस प्रकार हर साल एक नई शाखा
का अंकुर दिखाई पड़ता है और हर साल एक नई शाखा
निकलती है जो कुआर से कार्तिक तक पूरी बढ़ जाती है । मादा, जिसे सींग नहीं होते, चैत वैशाख में बच्चा
देती है ।
