धूपछाँह संज्ञा स्त्री० [हिं० धूप + छाँह] एक रंगीन कपड़ा जिसमें एक ही स्थान पर कभी एक रंग दिखाई पड़ता है कभी दुसरा । विशेष—यह कपड़ा इस प्रकार बुना जाना है कि ताने का सूत एक रंग का होता है और बाने का दूसरे रंग का । इसी से देखनेवाले की स्थिति और कपड़े की स्थिति के अनुसार कभी एक रंग दिखाई पड़ता है, कभी दूसरा । दो रंगों में से एक रंग लाल होता है, दूसरा हरा, नीला या बैंगनी । यौ०—धूपछाँह का रंग = दो इस प्रकार मिले हुए रंग कि एक ही स्थान पर कभी एक रंग दिखाई पड़े, कभी दूसरा ।
