२. ज्वार या मक्के के खेत में फैलनेवाली एक बेल जिसमें लंबे
लंबे और बडे़ फल लगते हैं ।
विशेष— ये फल भादों में पककर आपसे आप फूट जाते हैं, इसी से
'फूट' कहलाते हैं । ये खरबूजे ही की तरह होते हैं, पर स्वाद में
फिके होते हैं । मीठा मिलाने से इनका स्वाद बन जाता है ।
मुहा०—ककड़ी के चोर को कटारी से मारना= छोटे अपराध या
दो । पर कड़ा दंड देना । निष्ठुरता करना । ककड़ी खीरा
करना= तुच्छ समझना । तुच्छ बनाना । कुछ कदर न करना ।
जैसे,— तुमने हमारे माल को ककड़ी खीरा कर दीया ।
