इसका चूर्ण ज्वरनाशक है । कासनी बगीचों में बोई जाती है ।
हिंदुस्थान में अच्छी कासनी पंजाब के उत्तरी भागों में तथा
कश्मीर में होती है । पर यूरोप और साइबेरिया आदि की
कासनी औषध के लिये बहुत उत्तम समझी जाती है । यूरोप में
लोग कासनी का साग खाते हैं और उसकी जड़ को कहवे के
साथ मिलाकर पीते हैं । जड़से कहीं कहीं एक प्रकार की तेज
शराब बी निकालते हैं ।
