भी कहते हैं । हनुमत ने इसे छह मुख्य रागों के अंतर्गत माना
हैं । उ०—भैरव मालकोश हिंदोल दीपक श्रीराग मेघ सुरहिं

विशेष—यह संपुर्ण जाति का राग है । इसका स्वरुप वीररस-
युक्त, रक्त, वर्ण, वीर पुरुषों से आवोष्टित हाथ में रक्त वर्ण
का दंड लिए और गले में मुंडमाला धारण किए लिखा गया है । कोई कोई इसे नील वस्त्रधारी, श्वेत दंड लिए और गले
में मोतियों को माला धारण किए हुए मानते हैं । इसकी ऋतु
शरद् और काल रात का पिछला पहर है । कोई कोई शिशिर
और वसंत ऋतु को भी इसकी ऋतु बतलाते हैं । हनुमत् के
मत से कौशिकी, देवगिरी, दरवारी, सोहनी और नीलांबरी ये
पाँच इसकी प्रियाएँ और वागेश्वरी, ककुभा, पर्यका, शोभनी
और खंभाती ये पाँच भार्याएँ तथा माधव, शोभन, सिंधु, मारु
मेवाड़ कुंतल, केलिंग, सोम, बिहार और नीलरंग ये दस पुत्र
हैं । परंतु अन्यत्र वागेश्वरी, बाहर, शहाना, अताना, छाया ओर कुमारी नाम की इसकी रागिनियाँ, शंकरी और जयजय-
वंती सहचरियाँ, केदारा, हम्मीर नट, कामोद, खम्माच और
वहार नामक पुत्र और भुपाली, कामिनी, झिंझोटी, कामोदी
और विजया नाम की पुत्रबधुंए मानी गई हैं । कुछ लोग इसे
संकर राग मानते है और इसकी उत्पत्ति पटसारंग, हिंडोल,
बसंत,जयजयवंती और पंचम के योग से बतलाते हैं । रागमाला में इसे पाटल वर्ण, नीलपरिच्छद, यौवनमदमत्त, यष्टि-
धारी और स्त्री गण से परिवेष्ठित, गले में शत्रुओं के मुंड की
माला पहने; हास्य में निरत लिखा है; और चौड़ी, गौरी,
गुणकरी, खंभाती और ककुभा नाम की पाँच स्त्रियाँ, मारु,
मेवाड़, बड़हंस, प्रबल, चंद्रक, नंद, भ्रमर और खुखर नामक
आठ पुत्र बतलाए हैं; और भरत ने गौरी, दयावती, देवदाली,
खंभावती और कोकभा नाम की पाँच भार्याएँ और गांधार
शुद्ध, मकर, त्रिंजन, सहान, भक्तवल्लभ, मालीगौर और कामदेव
नामक आठ पुत्र और धनाश्री, मालश्रा, जयश्री, सुधारायी,
दुर्गा, गांधरी, भीमपलाशी और कामोदी नाम की उनकी
भार्याएँ लिखी हैं ।
