मुत्यु के संबंध मे बनाई जाती है । यह उर्दू भाषा में अनेक
छंदों में लिखी जाती है । इसमें किसी के मरने की घटना और
उसके गुणों का ऐसे प्रभावोत्पादक शब्दों में वर्णन् किया जाता
है जिसस सुननेवालों में शाके उत्पन्न हो । ऐसी कविता प्रायः
मुहर्रम के दिनों में पढ़ी जाती है । उ०— इसे कजली क्यों,
मरसिया कहना चाहिए ।— प्रेमघन०, भा० २, पृ० ३६२ ।
