एक रोग जिसमें पेशाव बहुत कष्ट से

विशेष—आयुर्वेद के अनुसार यह रोग अधिक व्यायाम करने,
तीव्र औषध सेवन करने, बहुत तेज घोड़े पर चढ़ने, बहुत रूखा
अन्न खाने, अधिक मद्य सेवन करने तथा अजीर्ण रहने से होता है । मूत्रकृच्छ आठ प्रकार का कहा गया है—वातज, पित्तज,
कफज, सान्निपातिक, शल्यज, पुरीषज, शुक्रज और अश्मरीज ।
'वातज' में शिश्न और वस्ति में बहुत पीडा़ होती है और मूत्र
थोड़ा थोड़ा आता है । 'पित्तज' में पीला या लाल पेशाव पीड़ा
और जलन के साथ उतरता है । 'कफज' में वस्ति और शिश्न
में सूजन होती है और पेशाव कुछ झाग लिए होता है ।
'सान्निपातिक' में वायु के सब उपद्रव दिखाई देते हैं और थह
बहुत कष्टसाध्य होता है । 'शल्यज' मूत्र की नली में काँटे
आदि के द्वारा घाव हो जाने से होता है और इसमें वातज के
से लक्षण देखे जाते हैं । 'पुरीषज' में मलरोघ होता है और
वात की पीड़ा के साथ पेशाब भी रुक रुककर आता है ।
'शुक्रज' शुक्रदोष से होता है और इसके पेशाब में वीर्य मिला
आता है और पीड़ा भी बहुत होती है । 'अश्मरीज' अश्मरी
या पथरी होने से होता है और इसमें मूत्र बहुत कष्ट से उतरता है । सुश्रुत के मत से शर्कराजन्य मूत्रकृच्छ भी कई प्रकार का
होता है । शर्करा भी एक प्रकार की अश्मरी ही है ।
