रोगनिर्णय । रोगलक्षण । रोग की पहचान ।
विशेष—सुश्रुत के पुछने पर धन्वंतरि जो ने कहा है कि वायु
ही प्राणियों की उत्पत्ति, स्थिति और विनाश का मुल है ।
यह शरीर के दोषों का स्वामी और रोगों का राजा है ।
वायु पाँच हैं—प्राण, उदान, समान, व्यान और अपना । ये
ही पाँचो वायु शरीर की रक्षा करती हैं । जिस वायु का मुख
में संचरण होता है उसे प्राणवायु कहते हैं । इससे शरीर की
रक्षा, प्राणधारण और खाया हुआ अन्न जठर में जाता हैं ।
इसके दूषित होने से हिचकी, दमा, आदि, रोग हेते हैं । जो
वायु ऊपर की ओर चलती है उसे उदान वायु कहेत हैं । इसके
कुपित होने से कंधे के ऊपर के रोग होते हैं । समान वायु
आमाशय और पक्वाशय में काम करती है । इसके बिगड़ने
से गुल्म, मंदाग्नि, अतीसार आदि रोग होते हैं । व्यान वायु
सारे शीरर में घुमती है और रसों को सर्वत्र पहुँचाती है । इसी
से पसीना और रक्त आदि निकलता है । इसके बिगड़ने से
शरीर भर में होनेवाले रोग हो सकते हैं । अपान वायु का
स्थान पक्वाशय है । इसके द्वारा मल, मुत्र, शुक, आर्तव, गर्भ
समय पर खिंचकर बाहर होता है । इस वायु के कुपित होने से
वस्ति और गुप्त स्थानों के रोग हेतो हैं । व्यान और अपान दोनों के कुपित होने से प्रमेह आदि शुक्ररोग होते हैं (सुश्रुत) ।
