संकट कटना । पहाड़ काटना = असंभव कार्य कर डालना ।
बहुत भारी काम कर डालना । ऐसा काम कर डालना जिसके
होने की बहुत कम आशा रही हो । संकट से पीछा छुड़ावा ।
पहाड़ टूटना था टूट पड़ना = अचानक कोई भारी आपत्ति
आ पड़ना । महान संकट उपस्थित होना । एकाएक भारी
मुसीबत आ पड़ना । जैसे,—बैठे बैठाए बेचारे पर पहाड़ टूट
पड़ा । पहाड़ से टक्कर लेना = अपने से बहुत अधिक बलवान्
व्यक्ति से शत्रुता ठानना । बड़े से बैर करना । जबरदस्त से
मुकाबिला करना । पहाड़ों से सिर टकराना = अपने से बहुत
बड़े शक्तिमान् से संघर्ष मोल लेना । उ०—अब आप पहाड़ों

२. किसी वस्तु का बहुत भारी ढेर । किसी वस्तु का बहुत बड़ा
