१. वह यंत्र जिसके द्वारा
कडी़ ओषधियाँ पिघलाई जाती हैं या उनका तेल बनाया
जाता है ।
विशेष—इस यंत्र में एक शीशी या मिट्टी का बरतन ऊपर और
एक नीचे रहता है । दोनों के मुँह एक दूसरे से मिले रहते हैं
और संधिस्थल पर कपड़मिट्टी कर दी जाती है । ऊपर की
शीशी या बरतन में औषधि रहती है और उसके मुँह पर
कपडे़ की ऐसी डाट लगा दी जाती है जिसमें बहुत से बारीक
सूराख होते हैं । नीचे के पात्र के मुँह पर डाट नहीं रहती ।
फिर नीचे के पात्र को एक गढे़ में रख देते हैं और उसके गले
तक मिट्टी या बालू भर देते हैं । ऊपर के पात्र को सब ओर से
कंडों या उपलों से ढककर आग लगा देते हैं । इस गरमी से
औषधि पिघलकर नीचे के पात्र में आ जाती है ।
२. वह यंत्र जिसमें ऊपर के पात्र में जल रहता है, नीचे के पात्र
को आँच दी जाती है और बीच में रस की सिद्धि होती है ।
