पीपल ओषधि की जड़ है ।
विशेष—आयुर्वेद के अनुसार पीपलामूल चरपरा, तीखा, गरम,
रुखा, दस्तावर, पित्त को कुपित करनेवाला, पाचक, रेचक
तथा कफ, वात, उदररोग, आनाह, प्लोहा, गुल्म, कृमि, श्वास,
क्षयरोग, खाँसी, आम और शूल को दूर करनेवाला माना
जाता है । पीपरामूल नाम से भी यह प्रसिद्ध है ।
