में जमा होता जाता है । अधिक दुर्गंध होने पर उसमें खारी,
नमक आदि कुछ ऐसी चीजें छोड़ते हैं जिनमें मल गलकर
मिट्टी हो जाता है । इसका प्रचार अधिकतर ऐसे नगरों में
है, जिनमें नल नहीं होता और नित्य मल बाहर फेंकने में
कठिनता होती है पर जबसे नल का प्रचार हुआ, तबसे
इस प्रकार के पाखाने बंद होने लगे हैं ।
२. संडास से मिलता जुलता वह पाखाना जिसका आकार ऊँचे
खड़े नल का सा होता है और जिसका नीचे का भाग पृथ्वी
तल पर होता है । इसमें नीचे मकान से बाहर की ओर एक
खिड़की रहती है जिसमें से मेहतर आकर मल उठा ले जाता है ।
