Definition of バベル‐の‐とう in the Japanese dictionary
Babel 's Tower 【Tower of Babel】 "Babel is a legendary tower in the Genesis of the Old Testament, the ancient capital of the biblical place name of Shinar. After Noah's flood, God was angry that human beings tried to build a tower high enough to reach heaven in Babylon, confusing the words of one human being so that they could not communicate with each other. For that reason people stopped construction and said they scattered around the country. In turn, it is also used for commandments against arrogance and for unfeasible planning.
