Ikaria yu 【Ikaria island】 "Ikaria / Ικαρα" Greece, an island in the eastern part of the Aegean Sea. Formerly known as Nicaria Island. The center is Agios Cyricos. In Greek myth, it is said that Ikaros of Daedalus crashed in the sea near this island. A colonial city was built around the 8th century BC, which was later absorbed by Samos of Prime Polyclatos. In the Middle Ages, Genoa republic was under the rule of the Ottoman Empire until modern times. At the beginning of the twentieth century, Ikaria free country was established and independent, but it was annexed to Greece in three months. It is known as a hot spring resort from ancient times. イカリア‐とう【イカリア島】 《Ikaria／Ικαρα》ギリシャ、エーゲ海東部の島。旧称ニカリア島。中心地はアギオスキリコス。ギリシャ神話では、この島の近海でダイダロスの息子イカロスが墜落したとされる。紀元前8世紀頃に植民都市が築かれ、後に僭主ポリュクラトスのサモスに吸収された。中世にジェノバ共和国、近代までオスマン帝国の支配下にあった。20世紀初めの一時期、イカリア自由国を建国して独立したが、3か月でギリシャに併合された。古くから温泉地として知られる。
