Rangitoto Toro [Rangitoto Island] "Island of New Zealand North Island" An island floating in Hauraki Bay off the northeast of Auckland. It was born by the eruption of the submarine volcano around the 15th century. Eruption continued intermittently until around the 18th century. It is covered with a forest where plants peculiar to the country are growing, including trees of Petrellae family Pohutukawa and ferns. In addition to the lava cave and the old coal mine base, there is an observatory at the top part of altitude 263 m. It is adjacent to the mouth tap island on the east side. ランギトト‐とう【ランギトト島】 《Rangitoto Island》ニュージーランド北島の都市オークランドの北東沖、ハウラキ湾に浮かぶ島。15世紀頃の海底火山の噴火により誕生。18世紀頃まで断続的に噴火が続いた。フトモモ科の樹木ポフツカワやシダ類をはじめ、同国固有の植物が生い茂る森林で覆われる。溶岩洞窟や旧炭鉱基地のほか、標高263メートルの頂上部に展望台がある。東側のモツタプ島と隣接する。
