Astana (Astana) is the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It was transferred from Almaty in 1997. The former name is Akumorinsku, Zellinoograd, Akumora. "Astana" means Kazakh language meaning "capital". It is on the right bank of Ishim River. It is the second largest country in the country after Almaty in the estimated population of 820,000 people (2014). Development is continued based on the city planning plan of Japanese architect Kisho Kurokawa, who was elected No. 1 in the international competition organized by the Kazakh government in 1998.
