Dietrich Buxtehude is a northern German composer and organist in the Baroque period. It is believed that his father Johannes was born in Helsingborg, where his father Johannes was working as an organist. Since 1668 he worked as an organist in the Church of St. Maria in Lübeck, a free city in northern Germany. With the great performance of this church, he composed a magnificent organ song full of fantasy, which greatly influenced young Bach. Since 1668 he has also made a kind of church concert, "The Music of the Evening." This became a specialty of Lübeck. Many musicians from all over Germany came to listen to his performances. Bach, who was working as organist in the Church of Arnstadt, had four weeks' vacation in 1705 to listen to the play of the bookstore, and came to Lüberg, 400km away. He raised his personal reputation with this evening concert and received financial support from wealthy citizens.
