Daryas Monkey
드리아스원숭이
Dreyas monkey is a kind of primate belonging to the long-tailed monkey family. Also known as Salunga Monkey or Ntolu, it is found only in the Congo Basin on the left bank of the Congo River. This animal, previously classified as a Gyreh Diana monkey, is now classified as a Dryas monkey. In some older literatures, Dryas monkeys were classified as Diana monkeys and subspecies as Cercopithecus diana dryas, but are geographically isolated from any known Diana monkey species. Previously, Darias monkeys were regarded as species-deficient species, but in recent years they have been classified as rare species, with a total population of less than 200. In the end, their status was changed from the 2008 IUCN Red List to endangered species. Their preferred habitat is supposed to be the upper part of secondary forests or primeval forests.
