Erythropoietin test Red cell anemia is anemic when the erythropoietin in the blood increases, and acts on the red subpopulation - forming red blood cell, which promotes its differentiation and proliferation, and maintains the normal state by making new red blood cells. On the contrary, erythrocyte activity decreases and disappears when hyperemia persists. Erythropoietin is extracted from serum and urine and is a glycoprotein with molecular weights of about 34,000 to 46,000. Erythropoietin in the blood increases with aplastic anemia, pure red cell aplasia, and decreases in iron deficiency anemia and intestinal hypertension. It also increases in erythrocyte tumors and heart and lung diseases. 에리트로포이에틴검사 적아구계 세포는 빈혈이 되면 혈중의 에리트로포이에틴이 증가하고 적아구전구세포인 적아구콜로니형성 세포에 작용해, 그 분화, 증식을 촉진하고 새로운 적혈구를 만들어 정상상태를 유지한다. 반대로 다혈 증이 되면 에리트로이에틴활성은 저하, 소실한다. 에리트 로포이에틴은 혈청, 요에서 추출되고 분자량 약 3만 4, 000~4만 6, 000의 당단백이다. 혈중의 에리트로포이에틴은 재생불량성 빈혈, 적아구로(赤芽球癆) pure red cell aplasia로 증가하고 철결핍성빈혈, 진성다혈증에서 저하한다. 또 에리트로 산생 종양이나 심ㆍ폐질환으로도 증가한다.
