Renewable energy refers to energy created in nature. The most common is solar energy, and there are also wind, hydro, biomass, geothermal, tidal, and wave energy. The kinds of renewable energy are so diverse. There are many types of renewable energy, but most of these come from the sun. The wind is caused by the movement of the air by the solar energy, and the flow of water is caused by the falling of the water vapor that is evaporated by the sunlight. Waves and ocean currents are caused by the temperature difference caused by seawater getting sunshine. Trees are also made of photosynthesis, and solar energy is transformed. Among the renewable energies, tidal and geothermal heat are not much related to solar energy. Tidal aid is the use of tide, which is caused by the force the moon pulls on the earth. Geothermal heat is generated by the heat inside the earth. 재생가능 에너지는 자연 상태에서 만들어진 에너지를 일컫는 말이다. 가장 흔한 것이 태양 에너지이고, 그 밖에도 풍력, 수력, 생물 자원, 지열, 조력, 파도 에너지 등이 있다. 재생 가능 에너지의 종류는 이처럼 매우 다양하다. 재생 가능 에너지의 종류는 여러 가지가 있지만, 이것들의 대부분은 태양으로부터 온 것이다. 바람은 공기가 태양 에너지를 받아서 움직이기 때문에 생기고 물의 흐름도 햇빛을 받아 증발한 수증기가 비가 되어서 내려오기 때문에 생긴다. 파도나 해류도 바닷물이 햇빛을 받아 온도차가 일어나기 때문에 생긴다. 나무도 광합성을 통해서 만들어지는 것으로 태양 에너지가 변형된 것이다. 재생 가능 에너지 중에서 태양 에너지와 크게 상관없는 것은 조력과 지열이다. 조력은 조수를 이용하는 것인데, 조수는 달이 지구를 잡아당기는 힘에 의해서 생긴다. 지열은 지구 내부의 열로 인해서 생긴다.
