(Source: "Tamna Power") 정방탐승 • 순 력 일 : 1702년(숙종 28년) 11월 초5일• 순력내용 : 배를 타고 정방폭포를 탐승폭포 위에 있는 소나무를 강조해서 그린 인상이 짙으며, 그 아래 정방연(正方淵)에서 배를 타고 놀이를 즐기고 있다. 그림 하단에는 정방폭포의 길이가 80여 척, 너비가 5척으로 기록되어 있다. 이형상(李衡祥)의 『남환박물(南宦博物)』에 의하면 정방연(正方淵)은 정의현에서 서쪽으로 68리에 있으며, 폭포 위에는 큰 소나무들이 있고 밑으로 바다가 있어 폭포가 바다에 직접 떨어져, 제일명구(第一名區)가 된다고 하였다.
