Tears are seen as a main symptom of viscous or aggressive reflux at the sore point due to compression of the lacrimal sac. The most common occlusion of the lacrimal sac is the lacrimal - nasolacrimal duct, which is divided into non - lacrimal, conjunctival, and dacryocytic, and bacterial, scarring, and anatomical abnormalities. Treatment includes antibiotics, cleansing and nuchal lining, and nasolacrimal duct anastomosis.

만성누낭염 비루관(鼻淚管)협착, 폐색부위에 세균감염이 가해져 누낭벽(淚囊壁)에 만성화 농성 염증이 생겨 누낭내에 농저류가 생긴 상태이다. 임상증상에 따라 카타르성, 누낭점액투, 누상종류, 만성누낭 주위염의 4종류로 분류된다. 눈물을 주증상으로 누낭부 압박에 의해 소루점(小淚点)에서의 점성 또는 농성 역류를 보인다. 누로폐색부위로서는 누낭–비루관이행부가 가장 많으며 원인으로는 비성, 결막성, 누낭성으로 나뉘며, 세균성, 반흔성, 해부학적 이상등이 있다. 치료는 항생물질, 세정 및 누로(淚路)형성, 비루관 문합술등이 있다.
