It is also called osteoporosis osteoporosis. The composition of the bone is normal, but the bone mass as an organs shows a pathological decrease. In cancellous bone, the number and thickness of the bone trabeculae decrease, and the cortical thickness becomes thinner in the case of the distal bone. In general, changes in the spongy bone, which is active metabolism, are likely to occur, so that the spinal vertebral body is weakened and deformed or fractured, resulting in the occurrence of lumbar vertebrae (腰 痛 痛). There is no change in serum Ca, P, and alkaline poses. There are many causes, old age, most postmenopausal, idiopathic, and various endocrine disorders. There is also acute bone atrophy such as pulmonary bony atrophy and trauma. 오스테오포로시스 골다공증이라고도 한다. 골질의 조성은 정상인데 기관으로서의 골량이 병적감소를 나타내는 것이고 해면골에서는 골량(骨梁)의 수와 굵기가 감소해서 거칠어지고 원질골(原質骨)의 경우 피질의 두께가 얇아진다. 일반적으로는 대사가 활발한 해면골에 변화가 나타나기 쉬우므로 척추추체가 약화해서 변형이나 골절이 생기고 요배통(腰背痛)이 생기는 경우가 많다. 혈청 Ca, P, 알칼리 포스테이스에 변화는 없다. 원인은 여러가지이고 노년성, 폐경후의 것이 가장 많은데, 특발성의 것도 있으며, 또 각종 내분비이상에 따른 것이 있다. 또 폐용성 골위축, 외상후 등의 급성골위축도 있다.
