Definition of 신생미과 in the Korean dictionary
It is a cake made with flour or starch, fried with oil, seasoned with salt, and other seasonings, against fried rice cake (Ara ra) made with new rice flour and glutinous rice flour paste. The dough is adjusted with wheat flour and starch, and the starch is called starch paste. There is a confectionery called starch-minced pork which is good fried with mixed fried bean and delicacy. It is said that it was designed as a substitute for the substitution of rice during the war, but it is developing as a snack cake in modern times. 신생미과 찹쌀미과 반죽으로 만들어지는 튀긴 미과(아라래)에 대하여, 밀가루나 전분으로 반죽을 만들어 기름으로 튀기고 식염, 그 밖의 조미료로 조미한 과자를 말한다. 밀가루와 전분으로 반죽을 조정한 것을 밀가루미과라 하고 전분만의 것을 전분미과라고 한다. 전분미과에 튀긴 콩이나 진미를 섞은 좋은 튀김이라 칭하는 과자가 있다. 전쟁 중 쌀의 부족에 따라 대용미과로 고안되었다고 하지만, 현대에는 스낵과자로 발달하고 있다.
